About Myself
Hi, I’m Ege Berk Gülpek, a Product Designer driven by clarity, and impact,
I design thoughtful digital experiences that solve real problems. For me, product design is not just about interfaces, it’s about understanding people, translating complexity into simplicity, and building systems that create meaningful value.
I spent 5+ years at UserGuiding designing complex SaaS features in multi-channeled structured product, like knowledge bases, onboarding flows, subscription flows, multi-level permission systems, localization, surveys, resource centers, product updates page creation, user segmentation... Experiences shaped by research, usability testing, and user feedback. I care about the decisions that happen before the screens, and I work best when design and product thinking overlap.
My Story
I started my career as a graphic designer, focused on visual clarity and communication.

Over time, I became increasingly curious about how digital products actually worked. I often caught myself thinking,

“If I designed this, I wouldn’t do it this way.”
That realization pushed me toward product design.

Understanding how visuals communicate and how products work gave me a broader lens than most. At UserGuiding, I grew from designing individual features to owning entire systems, collaborating across 6+ teams, and building design processes that outlasted any single project.
I'm currently open to new opportunities, not only to build meaningful products, but also to contribute to how teams think, collaborate, and create structure around their work..
While I'm looking, I'm working on BrandyBee, an AI tool that helps e-commerce brands optimize their product pages, generate content, and keep an eye on competitors. Doing the full frontend, mostly with Claude Code and VS Code, and drawing from past experience to keep information architecture, user flows, and the design system properly documented along the way.
My Design Approach
I believe good design is mostly invisible. The most important decisions I make aren't visual, they're structural.
Before I open Figma, I want to understand the system, the constraints, and what breaks if we get it wrong.
Documentation isn't a deliverable for me, it's how I think. I map decisions, write down the reasoning behind them, and make sure the people building alongside me never have to guess what was intended. A well-documented design decision saves more time than a well-polished screen.
I care about process as much as output. If a handoff is slow, I want to fix the handoff. If edge cases keep surfacing during development, I want to build the habit of catching them earlier. I treat friction in the design process the same way I treat friction in a product, as something worth solving, not just tolerating.
Beyond Design
American Football
I was a player for 10 years in BoÄŸaziçi Sultans American Football team where I was in the defensive captain role for a year. I am currently serving as the defensive coordinator of BoÄŸaziçi Sultans Women Flag Football Team, of which I am among the founding members.
Chess
I love playing and studying chess. I didn't start young, but I'm always working to get better.
Snowboard
I'm a snowboard addict. I haven't been able to hit the slopes due to knee injury two years ago, normally I never miss a season. :)
Video Games
I enjoy gaming on PlayStation. My favorite genres are FPS and RPG. Battlefield and Elden Ring say it all.
